Increase the fuel capacity and driving range of your GM 6.6L Duramax L5P Crew Cab Short Bed with the S&B Tanks 10-1017 62 Gallon Midship Replacement Fuel Tank. Designed as a direct replacement for the factory 36-gallon tank, this high-capacity system installs with no cutting, drilling, or modifications required.

Constructed from heavy-duty crosslinked polyethylene, this tank is built for long-term durability while integrated internal baffles help minimize fuel slosh and maintain fuel near the pickup during acceleration, braking, towing, and off-road driving conditions.

Key Benefits:

  • Massive 62-gallon fuel capacity
  • Direct bolt-in replacement for the factory fuel tank
  • Extended driving range with fewer fuel stops
  • Integrated baffling helps reduce fuel movement and sloshing noise

Features:

  • 62-gallon midship replacement fuel tank
  • Heavy-duty crosslinked polyethylene construction
  • Direct-fit bolt-in installation
  • Uses factory OEM locking ring for secure fuel pump sealing
  • Internal baffles help keep fuel near the pickup tube
  • Integrated emergency drain plug provision
  • No cutting, drilling, or modifications required for installation

Additional Design Features:

  • Integrated drain plug provision can assist with accidental fuel contamination situations
  • Designed to minimize tank slosh noise and improve fuel control

Fuel Gauge & Distance To Empty Information:

  • Factory fuel gauge remains operational
  • Fuel gauge may remain on full until approximately 4–5 gallons have been used
  • Distance To Empty (DTE) cannot be recalibrated for larger aftermarket fuel tanks
  • Low fuel light may illuminate with more reserve fuel remaining due to increased tank surface area
  • In some cases, the truck may temporarily display an empty fuel gauge until fuel level begins to drop normally
  • Diagnostic trouble code P0463 may occasionally appear due to slower float movement and can be cleared with a scan tool

Additional Notes:

  • High-flow truck stop fuel nozzles may not automatically shut off during fueling
