The Banks Monster-Ram intake elbow improves throttle response, airflow, and fuel economy by eliminating restrictive factory components. By replacing the stock grid heater with a high-flow billet intake plate, it prevents potential engine damage while delivering greater airflow to the cylinders. Monster-Ram is the only 50-state emissions-compliant intake elbow for Ram Cummins trucks, designed to raise boost without increasing turbine drive pressure.
With a larger and less restrictive design than stock, the Monster-Ram delivers oxygen-rich air more efficiently for quicker throttle response, optimized air distribution, and improved overall performance. It outflows stock by more than 88.3%, featuring a 3-3/8 inch inlet and four 1/8 inch NPT ports for sensors. The system uses stock mounting points and includes a proprietary fuel line along with all required hardware. Available finishes include red powder-coated, black, or raw aluminum.
When paired with Banks’ High-Flow Heater and Billet Intake Plate, airflow increases from 38.6 lbs/min MAF (stock) to 72.7 lbs/min MAF, nearly doubling efficiency. The high-flow vertical coil heater maintains cold-start performance while eliminating the restriction of the stock grid heater. This combination provides instant throttle response, stronger acceleration, and more power potential for higher horsepower applications.
Developed using advanced CFD, dyno testing, and on-road validation, the Monster-Ram is engineered as a direct-replacement aluminum casting. Banks redesigned the No. 1 fuel line to remove airflow obstructions caused by the stock elbow design, allowing greater flow and efficiency.
Expandable with four 1/8 inch NPT ports for sensors, the Monster-Ram is ideal for monitoring performance. Tested against competitors, it delivers more than twice the improvement of the closest alternative, making it a top choice for performance and reliability.
