The Hamilton Cams 07-C-178/208 Camshaft is engineered for maximum efficiency and improved low-RPM performance in Dodge and Ram Cummins applications. Designed for towing, daily driving, and moderate street driving, this camshaft delivers quicker turbo spool-up, improved drivability, and increased engine efficiency.

Featuring short duration and a wide lobe separation angle, this camshaft minimizes valve overlap to improve low-end response and fuel economy while helping reduce exhaust gas temperatures.

Key Benefits:

  • Improves low-RPM airflow and turbo response
  • Excellent towing and daily driving characteristics
  • Helps reduce EGTs by 200–300 degrees
  • Optimized for efficiency and street-driven trucks
  • Ideal for larger single turbo setups

Features:

  • RPM range: Idle – 4000 RPM
  • Duration @ .050": 178° intake / 208° exhaust
  • Wide lobe separation angle for minimal overlap
  • Improved low-end torque and drivability
  • Drilled and tapped for bolt-on cam gear retainer
  • Compatible with larger valve and ported cylinder head setups

Installation Notes:

  • Install with intake centerline from 1997–1999 specifications
  • Zinc additive required (not included)
  • Proper piston-to-valve clearance must be verified during installation

Clearance Requirements:

  • 1998.5–2002: Maximum .025" piston protrusion and minimum .038" valve face depth
  • 2003–2007 & 2013–2018: Maximum .018" piston protrusion and minimum .038" valve face depth
  • Oversize head gasket or valve reliefs may be required if minimum clearances are not met
