The system combines an enclosed cold-air housing with a large inlet, streamlined intake path, and oversized dome-shaped filter. This design helps isolate incoming air from hot underhood temperatures while increasing airflow and air density at the turbocharger inlet. Installation Note:

The factory Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor must be removed from the original intake and transferred to the Banks Ram-Air intake tube during installation. Inspect and clean the MAF sensor while removed, and replace it only if necessary.
