Improve intake airflow and replace the restrictive factory grid heater system on your Ram 3500/4500/5500 Cab & Chassis 6.7L Cummins with the Banks Power Monster-Ram Intake & Heater Grid Upgrade. This system combines the high-flow Monster-Ram intake manifold with a billet intake plate and Banks coil-style heater to reduce intake restriction while maintaining cold-weather starting capability.

With the Banks coil heater and high-flow billet intake plate installed, Banks reports airflow increases from the factory system's 38.6 lbs/min to 72.7 lbs/min, an improvement of approximately 88.3%. The larger, less restrictive intake tract improves airflow from the intercooler and is designed to raise boost without increasing turbine drive pressure, supporting quicker throttle response and improved engine breathing during daily driving, towing, and heavy hauling.

The system also addresses the factory grid heater design. Over time, the factory heater's electrical connection hardware can loosen, creating the potential for components to enter the intake tract and cause severe engine damage. Banks replaces the factory grid heater with a high-flow billet intake plate and vertically positioned coil heater, eliminating the original grid heater hardware while retaining cold-start heating functionality with minimal airflow obstruction.

A proprietary replacement fuel line provides additional clearance for the Monster-Ram's larger airflow path without requiring tuning. Four 1/8-inch NPT ports also provide convenient locations for compatible pressure, temperature, and other sensors, including monitoring equipment used with Banks iDash configurations.

Features:

  • 3-3/8" intake inlet
  • Flows approximately 88.3% more air than the factory configuration
  • Tested airflow of 72.7 lbs/min compared to 38.6 lbs/min stock
  • Larger and less restrictive than the factory intake manifold
  • Improves airflow from the intercooler into the engine
  • Designed to raise boost without increasing turbine drive pressure
  • Helps improve throttle response and engine breathing
  • High-flow Banks coil heater maintains cold-weather starting capability
  • High-flow billet intake plate replaces the restrictive factory grid heater assembly
  • Eliminates the factory grid heater hardware associated with potential intake-side engine damage
  • Billet intake plate is CNC port-matched to the Monster-Ram
  • Designed to optimize intake air pressure and distribution
  • Includes proprietary replacement fuel line for increased airflow clearance
  • No tuning required for the supplied fuel line
  • Uses factory mounting locations
  • (4) 1/8" NPT ports for compatible pressure, temperature, or other sensors
  • Available in natural aluminum or red powder-coated finishes

Installation Note:

The factory MAP sensor is mounted to the intake elbow and must be transferred to the Banks Monster-Ram during installation. Replacement of a functioning MAP sensor is not required, but installation provides a good opportunity to inspect and clean the sensor and replace it if necessary. Soot accumulation can interfere with accurate pressure and temperature readings.
