Banks started from scratch while sparing no expense in the creation of this differential cover. The team sought to answer the age-old question: "Do rear differential covers provide any real benefit, or are they just bling?" After extensive research, Gale and the Banks Engineering Team identified two major issues with aftermarket diff covers: poor airflow and flawed fluid dynamics. These issues are fully addressed in the Banks Ram-Air Differential Cover.

Testing showed that flat-back covers with larger fluid capacities suffer from poor fluid dynamics. The Banks Ram-Air design improves fluid flow to increase fuel economy and extend lubrication life. Cooling performance is 118% better than flat-back competitors at sustained 60mph and 4X better during on-road towing tests.
