Tier One's Stage 3 68RFE Transmission is a fully built, high-powered transmission designed for competition use, handling up to 900 horsepower for drag racing, dyno, or sled pull applications. Built for the 2019-2024 Ram 2500/3500 6.7L Cummins, it comes as a complete drop-in unit including a billet triple-disc torque converter, billet maraging steel input shaft, billet input clutch drum, billet outer drum, billet center support, billet OD clutch hub, billet 4C spring retainer, billet 4C piston, billet 2C piston, billet high-pressure valve body, deep transmission pan, and a performance rebuild kit.
The Stage 3 68RFE fixes common stock 68RFE problems while handling extreme levels of horsepower and torque. Black finish provides a clean look under your truck, and valve bodies are leak-checked before installation. This unit is backed by a 2-year, unlimited mileage warranty. Each Stage 3 transmission is fully disassembled, cleaned from OEM cores, inspected for planetary gear damage, and checked for tolerances and proper clearances. Valve body solenoids are tested and flat-sanded for optimal operation. TIG-welded planetary pinions are included to guarantee durability under extreme loads.
Recommended Gearing for Tire Sizes:
- 35" Tire: 4.10 gears or higher
- 37" Tire: 4.30 gears or higher
- 38"+ Tire: 4.56 gears or higher
Transmission Break-In & Core Info:
- 300-mile break-in with 100-mile relearn required to maintain warranty
- Core charge: $2,500 refundable upon inspection of your stock transmission
- Core charge can be fully or partially waived if stock core is sent in ahead of time
- Freight shipping required; inspect shipment before signing Bill of Lading
Optional Upgrades:
- Bypass upgrade: deletes stock thermal control valve for improved fluid flow
- Auxiliary cooler kit: adds secondary transmission cooler for enhanced cooling during heavy towing or racing
Tuning & Installation Notes:
- This transmission can be run with factory tuning
- Do not use max idle transmission line pressures; line pressures should rise smoothly to 225psi before 1/4 throttle
- Keep factory lockup sequence to prevent harsh shifting and broken shafts
- Low/reverse sprag holdout required to prevent major gear train damage
- Underdrive pulse must be turned off for elevated line pressures
- If not performing installation yourself, your chosen shop is responsible for transferring the lock-up solenoid
