Refined Shift Points

The refined shift points eliminate the low-RPM “lazy” feel that forces the driver to stab the throttle for a downshift – not cool, and a fuel economy killer! For trucks equipped with larger turbochargers, PPEI Transmission Tuning is crucial to return the engine to its proper RPM range, aligning it with the new turbo's torque curve.

Optimized Torque Converter Lockup

Along with the improved shift points, PPEI refines the torque converter lockup strategy to deliver power to the ground more efficiently. This helps improve fuel economy by eliminating unnecessary slip in the torque converter — which also reduces heat in typical “unlocked” conditions.

Increased Line Pressure for Greater Holding Power

Lastly (and possibly the greatest benefit) is the increase in line pressure PPEI provides. Higher line pressure increases the transmission’s holding capacity by clamping the clutch packs together with more force.
